There’s more to Patience is a Virtue in a Tarot Reading.
Epitomised by the Major Arcana card Temperance, a woman in white stands beside a lake, she has one toe in the water and her other foot firmly on dry land. She pours water from one cup to another over her heart indicating she is cooling the fires of her heart. She knows the virtue of patience is it gives you time to receive divine guidance.
When Temperance turns up in a tarot reading it is comforting to be reminder that we don’t always have to be proactive, and that there are times when its better to put a toe in the water (our feelings and instincts) and not be tempted to feel we have to commit ourselves to a course of action. Sometimes you have to wait to know how you feel about something, for your instincts to kick in about the way forward. Temperance suggests by keeping grounded and patient, divine guidance will come our way.
I picked this card last week as I was feeling rather restless and uncertain about what should be my priority, Temperance allowed me to consider its ok not to rush, or to ‘know’ all the time. And actually, in hindsight, I needed time to understand my feelings. Life has a wonderful way of evolving if you allow it. So when clients come to me for a reading and Temperance comes up I know there are probably issues of impatience, and because so often impatience comes out of fear and uncertainty, her advice is reassuring and hopeful as that lovely sunrise in the background, suggests sunshine is on its way.
I have a lovely new ‘Prepare for the Year ahead ‘tarot spread that is a lovely way to ground your feelings and instincts, hopes and desires for the future. Do come and have a reading in Battersea or via zoom or WhatsApp.
