Tarot for Direction

I thought I’d just share how I use a  daily ‘reflection’ card or ‘support’ card as I call it sometimes.

My example comes from this Tuesday. Having had a lovely quiet weekend on the isle of wight, mostly walking on the beach with Trumpet and watching the Coronation….. Tuesday morning I pulled the Chariot.  Quite a dramatic card at first glance.  A Major Arcana reflecting lots of drive and energy. The card shows a charioteer driving his chariot, above him is a canopy covered in stars, a black and white sphynx, are sitting side by side facing in slightly opposite directions.  The two sphynx represent duality, positive and negative, unconscious and conscious desires.  This charioteer is going to have to drive his chariot with great skill and power to keep two conflicting desires on course.   He is on a mission (shooting for the stars) in a chariot (a bit fast and furious) having to control his chariot and keep it going in the right direction.

I did something else with this card. Before I looked at it, which was hold it to my heart, to feel its energy.  Part of my practice to develop intuition. It felt warm and nourishing, so I was imagining it to be one of the cup suit, as cups represent feelings and emotion. I was surprised to find it was the Chariot.  Challenge.  We sometimes call it the Heroic Quest.

Immediately I recognised the duality aspect, half of me wanting to live quietly, peacefully, spending time walking, reading tarot, writing, contemplating life, and the other half indeed on a mission in terms of building my business, as well as having a social life. How to do both? How to keep two paths going at the same time?

Because I had tuned into the card energetically I found the guidance more supportive and kindly, not so challenging; it acknowledged the duality of the quest, saying ‘fair enough, it’s not easy but you’ve got to go for it!’

I did notice how the charioteer has to stand up to drive his chariot.

I think it’s going to take courage and boldness, plus STAMINA.  Stamina is where I am lacking, especially when I allow myself to get overwhelmed with ‘too much to do’ ‘too little time’ thinking.    I have courage, do I have the boldness?  And how to build stamina? Journalling on the Chariot card has helped considering these aspects wisdom of The Chariot card and journalling about it has really given me clarity.

I did post a reel on Instagram (boldness) and I had a very successful day yesterday balancing achievement and fun and relaxation (nap at 4pm.)  So just for one day….Result! and am inspired me to  continue working on it, discipline is going to be part of this!  Thank you Tarot . Do come for a reading in Battersea or on-line when I am in Seaview.
