Shall I keep going in the same direction?
I think a lot of us have moments when we wonder whether all the effort we are putting into life, our careers, or a relationship is going to pay off. When we feel discouraged and wonder, is this the right career for me, right relationship, right direction? Perhaps it’s not. Perhaps I’m pushing up the wrong hill after all? We can get a bit stuck because all the doubt and uncertainty makes us lose our confidence and then any endeavour feels even harder.
In a tarot reading the Seven of pentacles begs the question…
When are things going to pay off?
Is my hard work going to come to something?
Is it all worth it?
Should I keep going?
The answer is, now it not the moment to stop, yes keep going, don’t give up.
I pulled it yesterday on a very superficial level about whether I should go to a drinks party. I know how superficial am I. I just really didn’t want to go. At all.
I had to laugh when I pulled the seven of pentacles. As indeed it perfectly reflected my mood….
Can I be bothered?'
As I looked at the card rather ruefully, as it didn’t seem to give me an answer, merely perfectly reflected how I was feeling….I remembered what I say to all my clients.
The Seven of Pentacles shows a man looking at what he’s accomplished so far, wondering shall I keep going. Is it going to pay off. The answer is, this is not the time to quit. This is the time to keep going. It is worth it!
At the 7 level in tarot, anything is possible. With the seven of pentacles, pentacles representing the element of earth, work, money, status, you’ve just got to keep working at the practical side of life, keep perfecting your skill, keep at it.
And indeed once at the drinks party, I felt so grateful I had ‘bothered’ with the help of a tarot nudge, as I had some lovely chats with people. Talking to others was fun and brought out my sunny positive, ‘lets have a laugh’ and enjoy bouncing off other people. Plus I bumped into a couple of dear friends. So yes it was worth it.
On a more serious note it is a very welcome card to receive when you’re in a job and really not sure whether all your hard work is going to pay off, or a relationship, or any endeavour. The seven of pentacles says, look at what you’ve already invested! Often time, money, hard work. Don’t be discouraged, this is the moment to keep going, anything is possible, just keep working away at it. The seven of pentacles reaffirms that our efforts are worth it and we are heading in the right direction, and with that optimism and confidence returns.
