When a tarot reading promises Abundance the Empress appears…

I know what the Empress isn’t…

She doesn’t over think things.  She doesn’t weigh up the pros and cons of a situation before she acts.  She doesn’t hold a grudge.  She isn’t careful.  She isn’t a worrier.  She doesn’t move cautiously through life. She isn’t someone who keeps herself to herself.

She is the mother of mothers.  Abundant, generous, creative, fertile.  She gives birth to new possibility and harvests the good, the yield of her creativity.

I always imagine the Empress to be larger than life, all woman, confident, sexy, sensual.  A woman who embraces her maturity, her maternal nature and her fecundity.

I always enjoy saying ‘fecund’.  It’s usually met with incomprehension. Fecundity, a word so rarely used nowadays that is potent with fertility. Potent coming from potential.  The Empress is an abundance of fertility and potential then. Creativity.

And this is who I need to be to attract true love. I did the spread with class last week.

Quite a tall order, that is going to require a lot of letting go of rules, regulations, my own made supposedly to keep me on track, keep me good, keep me productive, keep me safe.

She sings, and laughs, and dances, she sways her hips, and takes her time, she is someone easy to hang out with, she envelopes us in her generous spirit and appreciation of the richness of life. She loves food, she would never diet.  Her table always has plenty for all, not just enough.  She doesn’t mind a bit extra.  There is plenty where that came from. She isn’t frugal. She has time for everyone. She doesn’t hurry through life with an agenda.  Clutching her to do list.  There’s time to take time. An abundance of time.  She can afford to be generous with her time, herself, there’s enough for everyone.

She is relaxed.
