Indecision is a very good reason to have a tarot reading….

Indecision is one of the most disabling of emotions. It saps our energy and enthusiasm for life. When we don’t understand a situation and know what to do, it’s easy to become slowly more indecisive and unhappy. The four of pentacles doesn’t specifically speak of indecision, but it’s the closest card that describes this kind of misery, sitting in indecision and dissatisfaction. The four of pentacles speaks of not liking what is going on, not liking what we are being offered in life. If you look at the chap on the card, he looks quite sulky about it, with his arms crossed in a resigned ‘poor me’ mode. The trouble is when you allow feelings of indecision and disatisfaction to creep up on you, you lose your feeling of agency to make things better, you become the victim, and miss out on life. While the four of pentacles describes this state, it also comes with a bit of a caveat…..are you missing out on an opportunity?

The four of cups illustrates just how easy it is for indecision and uncertainly to cloud your thinking so you can miss an opportunity that is staring you in the face.

Life is not always a bunch of roses. The four of pentacles is a card that reflects these moments and says stop feeling hard done by and don’t miss out on what is on offer!

Except by this time, our emotions have got the better of us and we can’t see the opportunity in front of us….and when a tarot reading can really help clear the air. We all want reassurance that we are heading in the right direction. I know I do!

If I think of the last week and all the readings I have given, the heart of all of them have been indecision. Indecision about a job; whether to resign or fight for what we believe in; whether to look for a new one; and which job to go for; how to handle a boss, a work colleague, a challenge we don’t know how to respond to, are just a few examples of work situations that are so useful to explore in a tarot reading.

Then there’s indecision and uncertainty around relationships; around a current relationship, someone you’ve just met; and especially how to meet someone who will make you happy in a relationship?

All very good reasons to have a tarot reading…..

An example of chronic indecision this week was a friend who couldn’t decide whether to resign from her job. It consumed her; the unhappiness of it. She had written her resignation letter, but was still uncertain and so she came and had a second tarot reading with me. In both readings her advice card was the Queen of Wands, someone who is leader, independent, creative, intuitive, inspiring and entrepreneurial…..there was no hint of being advised to quit. She was torn because everyone was fed up with her being miserable and wanted her to quit but something inside her just didn’t want to. Having ignored the Queen of Wands in her first reading she decided to take her advice. Instead she wrote herself a business plan of what she wanted to achieve in the business and the role she wanted to play, and Instead of handing in her resignation letter on Monday morning, she found herself resigning from current position and applying for a higher position in the same company! Talk about a turnaround. We watch this space.

This Queen is independent, spirited, creative, entrepreneurial and inspring!
