How just three cards can give a clear direction of the way forward

In response to the question, how do I proceed? these three cards give very precise advice of the action and attitude to take, to navigate circumstances to your advantage.

This was part of an on-line reading via WhatsApp for someone who was feeing rather overwhelmed by too many things that needed doing, she felt in order to feel calmer, she needed to clear the desk to gain clarity and direction, so the three cards we pulled couldn’t have been more relevant.

Card no 1.  (background) The Page of Swords

·      getting onto higher ground to gain perspective.

·      Being strategic to achieve what YOU want.

·      and opportunistic (even if it means being a bit ‘selfish’)

Card no 2..  (present situation) The Seven of Swords

·      where might you be giving your power away?

 examples

  •     saying yes to others when you mean no.

  •      Allowing busyness to take over

  •      Getting yourself into situations that take away your confidence

  •      OVERWHELM (now there’s an easy way to give your power away)

Card no 3. (what next?) Seven of Wands –

  • ·      Getting back up on higher ground, look at the big picture

  • ·      Observe what needs doing from a fresh perspective

  • ·      (to avoid feeing under the cosh) delegate where you can and

  • ·      tackle one thing one at a time.  Get inspired. You can do it.

‘Where do we give our power away?’

Often with the seven of swords, we literally ‘give’ it away, which makes it even more infuriating as then ‘it’s all our fault’ for not knowing how to say NO.

The seven of swords is most intriguing. If you look at the card, the guy stealing the five swords looks decidedly pleased with himself, which begs the question who or what has enabled this  ‘thief in the night’ to take the advantage? an aspect of yourself, someone else, or a tricky situation?

Yesterday I really noticed ‘ how I gave my power away’.  And, on an occasion of my own making.  I’d made the plans to do something nice with and for others.  I was also conscious of the potential for stress and I managed to totally fail to engage any of the qualities of relaxed equanimity or lightness of touch necessary. I succumbed to every single trigger (not initially) however in the end it felt like I spent the whole day supressing (or trying to ) my reactions, irritation, impatience, fury and ended up feeling like shit.

 Anyone else know that one?

Today guided by the seven of wands, and to get myself out of seven of swords territory am getting back up onto higher ground.  Both are sevens, so at the point in tarot numerology where anything is possible!

Wands represents fire, passion, inspiration, lighting the match (ace) so by getting onto higher ground be able to see the situation from a fresh perspective, I am reminded to take back my independence (and be a bit fiery about it) in order to tackle, do, one thing at a time.

Good luck everyone!
