Being able to express our pure intentions in 2025

The reason I chose ‘How to Set your North Star Compass’ to start 2025 is because I always find myself wanting to rush at the New Year, setting intentions and end up getting a bit overwhelmed by everything I want to do and running out of steam later in the month.

And so I particularly liked the guidance offered….

How to unlock your potential tarot reading for the start of 2025.

The Ace of Sword reflects our present situation and clear intention that decisions, or just taking ONE, will activate the flow of energy this year. However deciding which decision can be tricky. Which is how the Strength card, the card that describes HOW we unlock our potential for 2025, comes into play.

Reassuringly the Four of Pentacles at our root and our support card, encourages us to keep steady, keep our feet on the ground and build on what we already have, rather than any need to dynamic. With the four of pentacles we are being advised to consolidate and not fly off toward a whole bunch of new ideas and goals.

The key to setting out North Star compass in 2025 is in the STRENGTH tarot card which speaks of inner strength and being able to express our true selves with pure intention.

Strength tarot card

A woman in white (pure intentions) is ‘taming’ the lion, bending over him and touching him gently in order for the lion to listen and receive what she is expressing …..

The way I see the Strength card, ultimately it is the dynamic between being true to ourselves and be able to express our pure intentions out into the world while ‘taming’ the Ego. Ours and Others. The ego depicted by the lion on this card, metaphorically speaking wants to remain king of the jungle, he wants power and sex, he’s lion after all! All perfectly normal earthly desires of the Ego….that can get in the way of our true nature.

We often call the Strength card the Female Alchemist as she uses the alchemy of persuasion coming from a place of peace to tame the ‘ego’. She knows that if she confronts a lion head on danger lurks and so finds a way of expressing herself so that he listens.

For me this image relates to how I need to approach my own ego, as so often there is a tussle between what my inner self my desire for instant gratification. It takes a certain inner STRENGTH to tame what I call the ego’s rebelliousness or wilfulness.

The other interpretation of the Strength card really speaks to, our relationship with others and with the world, because of course being our true selves and finding a way to express this impacts others, partners, colleagues, friends family etc. And therein can lie a conflict.

How do we have the inner confidence to voice our ‘truth’ without upsetting anyone?  Again this is when the skill of the female alchemist comes into her own, as she understands the delicacy of this dance.  So often it is not about stating what we want, its finding a way that the other can hear and receive it without feeling challenged or offended. I sometimes look at the picture of this card and think she’s a bit of a seductress.

The most important question the STRENGTH card asks of us at the start of this year, is to tune into our deep hearts and voice to ourselves what really matters to us, what we really want.  Voicing this to ourselves is the first step to garnering the inner strength to set our North Star compass in the right direction.

And the outcome, the Six of Pentacles….What we Sow so we Reap. The card of Karma and reciprocity, of give and take, of investment in our endeavours and reward in balance with our contribution. Very good luck everyone.

And please consider having a tarot reading as it can can be a powerful way of voicing what you really want to achieve and be this year.
