Feeling overwhelmed is a good reason to have a Tarot reading.

If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed t’s easy to identify with the chap portrayed on the Seven of Wands’s, he looks as if he’s batting off 6 sticks defending himself with the seventh.  The sticks are actually called wands in Tarot and represent the element of fire, and inspiration.  However feeling embattled by everything you aspire to can also feel overwhelming.  Hence why the advice of this Tarot card is to get up onto higher ground, gain the advantage of a wider perspective in order to be able to decide what to tackle first and then take one thing at a time.

One of the benefits of a tarot reading, or coaching session is you can give yourself the time to identify your worries, goals, desires, confusions, things at the back of your mind you can’t quite put your finger on, examine them, ask questions, gain fresh insight, discuss, ask for advice, and by the end of it you have a deeper understanding of yourself, what you really want to prioritise that will benefit your life and how to go about it. Clarity does bring back self-confidence.

Whether people come to me in Battersea, or we meet virtually via zoom or facetime, I find having a Tarot reading is especially helpful when feeling confused. I don’t think overwhelm is just about having too much to do, our ‘to do list’, I think it has a lot to do with the expectations we put on ourselves; about the kind of people we want to be, the kind of lives we want to be living, instead the kind of people we are and the life we are living.    There is so much choice, fed us by all our many interests, social media, the desire to learn, grow, be happy, meditate, sleep longer, eat well, be informed, …..it’s not that surprising.  Trying to decide what to watch on television of an evening is challenging enough, and last night heading for light relief in the form of Derry Girls on Netflix, I clicked on a webinar that was saved on my browser to watch later and ended up watching Zach Bush informing me that my views on water and hydration were completely wrong…..actually it was fascinating, however am not sure losing an hour of sleep to be better informed was the right choice.

Being able to gain clarity about what matters is a wonderful thing, and a tarot reading can help.  Once you are able to make the decision you’d been hesitating over, and procrastination is over, it’s such a relief, you can breathe, smile, and be relaxed in the knowledge you know the direction you are heading.  Taking one step at a time.
