Even a two card spread tarot reading in answer to a question you have can be so helpful.
Sometimes clients call me for a quick tarot reading on WhatsApp; especially when they just have one question. An example of this would be this two card reading. The question was ‘how should I approach this week?’.
It turned out to be a very interesting reading and so I offered it as a theme for the week to ponder on instagram.
The six of Swords and the Knight of Cups both combine the idea of moving forward, one from a well-deserved sense of self-respect, and the other with a sense of offering ourselves unconditionally to the world; open to possibility and new ideas.
The first card, the 6 of swords, acknowledges the decisions that you have made in the past that have now enabled you to move out of troubled water into smooth. The six swords in the boat remind us of the integrity and wisdom (and perhaps difficult lessons learned) that we take with us, in order to remember them going forward. Also in the boat we carry our beloveds. We are steering our boat, no one else, safely across the river to the other side, and new shores. Respect I say.
Card no 2. and now ……The knight of Cups, riding a beautiful white horse in search of the holy grail. He holds a large chalice in front of him offering unconditional love. The plumes of his helmet fly behind him like the wings of a bird. His horse moves forward head held high, proud of what he has to offer, with grace and beauty.
I love this Knight, moving forward rather idealistically offering himself to the world with no hidden agenda.
I think the sequence of these cards is so insightful. First take note of where you are; take a moment to appreciate the decisions made, the way you set yourself to this journey. The journey of the swords (representing truth & integrity) is not easy.
I also suspect without taking a bit of time to give yourself a bit of self respect, and value your efforts, you (well I) wouldn’t feel worthy of moving forward like a knight in shining armour.
