Bring your imagination to a tarot reading…

I sometimes wonder the benefit is of my pulling daily reflection cards, because I am only interpreting them in response to my situation.   I’m only having a conversation with myself.   However I have found once I start having the conversation via the tarot cards and my imagination and intuition comes into a play, there is so much more awareness and possibility that opens up the day. And nourishment.

Nourishment, because the conversation does feed the Soul, or rather the conversation connects me to Soul, Universal Intelligence, the Divine, which nourishes me.  It’s all in the conversation.

It’s one of the reasons I ask clients to look at the cards and consider their own interpretations because I have found the power lies in a tarot reading in their response to the ideas, thoughts, insights given, and their interpretation of a card or what I say bring meaning that would not otherwise have been gained.

Us tarot readers after all, say a lot of slightly different things in a reading and about each card, and it is our clients who take the meaning they most resonate with. And a reason why we have to be so careful what we say, and how we say it, because people have a tendency to hone in on the ‘negative’…especially those who come to a tarot reading feeling slightly fragile with anxiety and worry.

I am always fascinated when I have finished reading the Celtic Cross (a quick snap shot that reflects the present situation to start off a reading) and ask, how does that resonate with you?  How does it relate?

Even when clients say ‘it’s spot on’ I know it isn’t the half of it, which is why I always say ‘tell me more’…..because as they express their interpretation they open up a whole other layer of meaning for themselves and for the reading.  Also by speaking out loud we find a place where our thoughts and feelings, hopes and fears, land and are heard and received, which is also where the gold lies.

How do you interpret the cards?

I do remember years ago when I had a tarot reading I sat there with my arms folded waiting for him to tell me everything.  As if he was a medium channelling from spirit, or a proper fortune teller.  I am embarrassed now how unhelpful I was, and unpleasant, and how I missed an opportunity to find some relief from my underlying misery and doubt.  It was a great lesson and reminds me as a reader how desperate we can feel and how a good tarot reader and reading can really coax us out of our misery and give us some inspiration and hope and set us back on our feet heading in the right direction with optimism.

In an ideal world a tarot reading restores us to our true selves (without the fear doubt anxiety we stand revealed) and once restored our own energy floods back and we are back into the flow of life again. Back in Action.  I say action, as ultimately it is our actions that creates our future.

Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online.
