Boxing Day Tarot
The Lovers, our reflection card for Boxing Day…
I do laugh when clients get the Lovers as an advice card in a tarot reading…..as metaphorically speaking this card says ‘Honey, the Choice is yours, you get to decide which apple you pick off the tree?’ which isn’t very useful when you were looking for advice to help you decide what your choice is!
The card speaks of Choice and free will. It is a powerful card that reminds us in this instance; this moment in time, WE have the potential to Choose what we connect with, what we desire. The magnificent wings of an angel is above the Lovers. Divine Guidance is at hand and will help us make the choice that is right for us.
I often feel when I see the Lovers that we are being asked to consider a choice in the context of our divine purpose and being asked to remember that this is our one precious life. We get to choose what we want, what’s our purpose and desire to connect with in this moment.
When I received it today, I also laughed as am torn between a choice. A few choices actually. Whether to go home to Battersea or stay another night for an evening of family games. Who wouldn’t choose a fun evening of family games? Except we did that last night, and while it was enormous fun I am also trying to head off some kind of lurgy, so it might be better to ‘save my energy’ and have a quiet night at home. Or? stay and enjoy more family time…and contribute to family connection. The Lovers tarot card certainly speaks of love. Can I be of value if I stay?
With Divine Guidance, you are reminded to almost wait until your instincts, divine guidance, gives you a ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The Lovers tarot card says make your CHOICE with Divine Guidance. And as I see it, trusting that you have divine guidance backing you helps. So we also have a choice of staying very Present and seeing which way life unfolds.
Still, the Lovers does say ‘THE CHOICE IS YOURS’ which does also suggest a certain amount of decisiveness on our part. We are FREE to choose. After all Eve did pluck the Apple of Life. The Apple of Knowledge. She chose freedom, from the safe and beautiful garden of Eden, to begin her own explorations.
Perhaps my first choice is to stop writing this, have a shower and dress….we haven’t even started to discuss the other Choice I am trying to make. New Year’s Eve, by myself on the isle of wight, with promise of drinks and swim on the beach on new years day!!! Or heading to Hampshire for a repeat of last year. When I write it like that it’s almost a no brainer! A swim in the sea on New Year’s day with friends on on the island I’d like to explore making more of a life in 2024…..
At least the Lovers helped me make one decision!
I booked the ferry. And drove home. As the lurgy released itself into full swing.

And lead on to another question. What would you like to learn, explore, and experience more of in 2024?
After some pondering on travel and adventure, the beginning of my answer is I would like to understand the magic of the World and nature more, I would like to be able to name the stars. I would like more heart connection as well as the peace of heart and mind that comes with a sense of fulfilment, and being Enough.
