A Tarot Reading can be invaluable when its time to get down to practicalities

The Queen of Pentacles is the Queen of taking care of our practical needs.

This queen knows how to get things done, she’s the practical Queen, the Mother of organising and taking care of others, because she knows how to take care of others is by understanding the practical needs of life that make life enjoyable.

My tarot teacher always used to refer to her as the queen of hearth and home; someone who demonstrates her love by keeping hearth and home clean and orderly, lovingly decorated, as well as makes sure there is delicious food on the table.

At the time, not having a family taking pride in my home wasn’t a priority, however I did take a lot of pride in my job.  And I could recognise that the Queen of Pentacles described to me the practical side of producing.  As a TV producer so much of the job is understanding the needs of everyone involved, the writer, director, actors, broadcaster, and making sure their practical needs are taken care of so that they could do their best work as well as bring harmony to the ‘home’ by creating the environment where a disparate group of people collaborate as a team, together working on and making a good show, TV series or whatever it was.

Today I was looking for inspiration for the day as an antidote to intense anxiety. I’d woken up from one of those dreams when everything goes wrong, you know you are trying to catch a plane and you can’t even get the packing done…or in the case of my dream I was preparing for a presentation and either lost my notes or couldn’t read my writing and in the end missed my moment and all felt like a nightmare….and I pulled the Queen of Pentacles.  She said to me, get practical, make things comfortable for others in your environment, get practical about things that need doing and ‘stop delving into every feeling you have’…my Father would call it ‘navel gazing’ and overthinking everything.  I do have tendency to make things over complicated….

The answer to my as yet unnamed anxiety was to get down to practicalities!

And there were a couple of practicalities lurking in the background.  A letter that I needed to write and had been putting off because it was so important.  And this blog, already a day or so ‘late’.

Today I am feeling quite restored. Letter written and sent.  And blog nearly finished. List of things to do for the week all organised.

I reckon the Queen of Pentacles saved me from another day of anxiety and overthinking. Monday morning I am ready for the week.

Tarot can be such a friend. And a Tarot reading so helpful when you don’t know what to do. Sometimes just blindly following an advice card is the way forward. Do come and have a reading in Battersea or online with me, sueb.tarot.com
