The Ten of Swords in a tarot reading…
7 am BEFORE PICKING THE 10 OF SWORDS…
This is how my brain was going!
Okay can I do everything I want to do today without getting frazzled. How can I fit it all in? Let’s write it all down to see if possible.
9.30 leave for tennis (iron shorts beforehand, and put wash on at 60 mins so can do another short one when I get back)
11.30 back from tennis…..one hour to pack, water plants (no need to get out summer clothes you have plenty) or you could?…book hover, organise what I want to listen to in the car…
I p.m. leave, latest for 1.30…leaves 2 hours to get hover….n.b. parking new place?
Text harriet and Kate that be on the island and available for readings….
And then I picked the 10 of swords. I almost laughed outloud. The best advice ever.
Let go!
Let go of trying to control everything
Yourself
Other people
And life generally.
Let go of ‘got to get everything right’
Along with all the questioning, weighing up and pros and cons to make sure you dont do the wrong thing! Whether you should or shouldn’t play tennis as well as walk an hour from the hover?
All that Getting it right
Being right
Just Let go.
And what a relief.
The Ten of Swords is all about letting go of the Ego.
I think of the ego as the Self that has all these ideas about how to live your life the right way, and in my case leave no stone unturned to feeling you are making the most of your time. Let’s not get into TIME.
There’s not enough TIME has got to be my biggest fear drivers…everything is about making the most of my time, fitting things into the day, rush rush rush
Its so stressful
Trying to control TIME?! makes no sense.
The ten of Swords is probably the ultimate meditation and enlightenment card. Thinking who we are is the EGO. All that striving!
On the tennis court, I noticed my competitiveness and was able to say….10 of swords…Ego ego ego! Let Go. Relax. Breathe.
Mind you there was one game when I served for hours I could hardly breathe! Deuce, your advantage, deuce, our advantage, deuce, your advantage and back again. I was absolutely exhausted, red in the face, huffing and puffing, but in the end it was our advantage and then game!
Another example of letting go perhaps.
To my delight, my fear of playing tennis on top of an already physical week, was not needed. Worried that it would be too much for the/not my tennis elbow . I even forgot to ice it and my arm felt totally fine! Result. So glad I got that 10 of swords, as also let go of all that what if I play tennis and I hurt my elbow!
Even on the drive down to Portsmouth, hideous traffic getting out of London, the ten of swords helped. Let go of trying to control the traffic Susan, you can’t. Mind you I did leave at 1p.m
The ten of swords in a tarot reading, looks quite dramatic with a man lying on his front with ten swords sticking out of his back, blood spilling, but its all about letting go of control for a new dawn. See the lovely dawn appearing behind the 10 swords. Yes we can make it a painful process if we can’t step back and see how our trying ego to control, thinks it is in control of life and without a doubt adding stress as you cant win everytime. BUT…..if you can let go the fight with yourself, with the world, with winning, you get a new dawn. And I always encourage clients by saying the quicker we let go of control, the quicker the new dawn with break!
How useful was it to me to pull that card yesterday! I am going to keep it as my ‘lens for looking, experiencing life’ for a day or two….as I think it will be freeing.
FREEDOM. I want more of that.
