The relief of a Tarot reading…..

is a wonderful thing when you are feeling a bit ‘stuck in a rut’.

‘Stuck’ anywhere suggests ‘stuck’ energy, and stuck energy often means not being in the flow of life and invariably feeling somewhat uninspired …

The other day, when I was in just such a mood, I decided to pull one advice card for the day, and I pulled the Wheel of Fortune….I did laugh ….because this card is the exact antidote to feeling stuck. The Wheel of Fortune is a Major Arcana card that says, come on don’t just sit there, jump into things, follow any impetus, and one small action will turn the wheel of fortune and affect change. Jump and Fate will follow.

….so thinking OMG Tarot is so brilliant the way it/she/he knows   and filled with momentum, it was a Sunday and there was something I wanted….a couple of palms for my terrace.  I hadn’t found any at the local garden centre ….so I got all determined and googled garden centres and there was one that had 4.7 stars, palms in the picture, and was not that far away.     So off I went, except …..it was in the congestion charge.   Now you may not know me, but I have a very healthy resistance to going into the congestion charge on any day especially now that you have to pay on a Sunday?!? So I screeched to a halt…and then remembered the Wheel of Fortune and thought ‘get over it Susan, £12.50 is not going to break the bank and this ‘highly rated on google’ garden centre is so close’.   Crossing into it I found said garden centre looking decidedly neglected, in fact quite dilapidated, a tiny corner that looked, nothing like the pictures, and was closed.

In for a penny in for a pound I google the next one, in Elephant and Castle of all places. There a young guy encouraged me to buy two plants that were lovely, but weren’t palms, who was so charming I almost considered buying them.  So I went home empty handed, except for the lovely exchange and spending £12.50, the excursion hadn’t exactly achieved anything….although at least now I knew I wanted palms and was determined to find them.

The next day, out of the blue I received an Airbnb request over the exact dates I’d been invited on an expensive holiday (that earlier I’d refused) and was able to accept both!

Did my attempt to respond to the Wheel of Fortune’s call activate fate?  I have no idea but I guess doing something and even something a little bit out of character did change my energy…..I certainly felt life had done a 360 degree change from Sunday to Monday.

So not only did I end up going on holiday, but the following weekend I girded my loins and drove all the way to The Palm Centre in Ham, and found hundreds of beautiful palms. And here are my two freshly planted.
