The Queen’s legacy will live on for generations.
When you apply the meaning of the ten of pentacles to our lives, it is about building security and our place in society for the generations. We work to support ourselves and our families. For many it is the key motivation for work. To have the financial stability to enjoy life. I can think of many families where children have gone to university for the first time, become first time home owners, because of the support and hard work of their parents. I’ve also watched these same children do the same for their children and no doubt their children will for their children. So family values are very much at the core of the ten of pentacles. What we do does filter down through the generations.
I have a very small family and we have become somewhat disparate, since our Mother died. This time last year. And so the passing of the Queen has brought back very strongly not only the loss of our Mother but also the realisation of how we were held together by her, and the Queen. The Queen, because every Christmas, after all the excitement of our presents and stuffing ourselves with turkey and mince pies and Christmas pudding, the part of the day which was sacrosanct was the Queen’s speech at 3p.m. Every year she came into our family living room and we felt honoured, and reassured and proud to have such a Queen and mother of our nation. The respect and affection my parents felt so obviously was transferred to us by osmosis. And has kept on growing.
I pulled the ten of pentacles yesterday for insight about what I was doing in terms of my estranged sisters. I had to smile as the ten of pentacles says keep on working away the values of kindness and friendship, oh and perhaps some forgiveness. Oh yes and letting go of expectations. Hmm my ten of pentacles work is cut out for me. I know deeply that family matters, however challenging the circumstances. I’d like to think when we receive the ten of pentacles in a tarot reading it helps us keep on working when we consider our legacy and that there is a value to our work and contribution for the long term happiness of all.
It never occurred to me to compare the loyalty, duty and hard work of the Queen to the ten of pentacles until I started writing this blog today.
God Bless the Queen. And her dazzling smile.
