The Magician in a tarot reading…
Of all the cards in the Tarot, the Magician is the card you want to pull when you want to make something happen; when you wish to manifest something in your life.
There he/she stands holding her/his wand aloft, the universal symbol of eternity is above the Magician’s head. He has all the tools, the cup for emotional understanding, the sword for truth and intellectual thinking, the pentacle for practical solutions, and the wand for inspiration. This person can create anything and manifest it into the world.
It’s the perfect card to receive when you need encouragement and confirmation that you have the skills to make happen what you want to achieve. It may apply to a relationship, a problem you are trying to solve, a challenge at work. Yes with the Magician it might take a bit of clever strategy, because the magician is not afraid to manipulate to get what she or he wants, but you can do it, and sometimes coming at things sideways rather than straight is a good tactic.
Recently when clients receive the Magician as an advice card in a tarot reading, I can’t resist asking…what does a Magician do? He has all the skills…to create magic…so he might even cast a spell. I’m a great believer in imagining you can ask the universe to help conjour up some magic on your behalf. And with white lilies for purity and red roses surrounding him; red to follow your passion, white for innocence. I raise my wand and say ‘this or something better for everyone’ as I reckon this covers my asking and making the world a happier place at the same time.
There’s an alchemy to combining all your skills in a strategic and creative way, to create magic.
