The Hierophant reminds us of our sacred marriage to our sense of Purpose that is central to our lives.

Perhaps the Hierophant best describes how a tarot reading sometimes can feel like the intercessor between God and man.

A bold suggestion I admit.   But so often when I am doing a reading, I am so moved by a card that a client receives because it so timely so fitting, and so astounding.

Only this Saturday I was doing quick readings at a hen do before the girls were heading out into the night in a big limo to go clubbing.

All dressed in pink, the bride in white.  There was one girl there who said she wasn’t going to have reading as she was doubtful and rather afraid of having one.  After reading the bride and three of her bridesmaids, the fourth bridesmaid said she wanted to have a reading.  She wanted a spread to see when the nightmare of her divorce was going to get better.  We decided to do a three card spread just to see the trajectory of things, when the first card exactly described the current situation, the second described how things would settle down, and the third how suddenly she would have choices and options ahead of her that would inspire, tears started to fall I could see the relief on her dear face.  So I said would she like an advice card about how to handle it all and she pulled the Death card.  The end of an era and the beginning a new.  This card promises a finality leading to renewal, transformation. When I described it to her tears of joy ran down her face.  I could feel goose bumps, and tears pricking my eyes.  These are the moment when as a tarot reading I feel Tarot can be an intercession we long for between ourselves and our God, or a power higher than ourselves.

The Image on this card is of the Pope blessing two cardinals and reminds us of our marriage to spiritual purpose.

The word Hierophant comes from Holy and reflects our spiritual faith, and our marriage between our soul’s purpose and daily life.   If you look at the card, the red cloak of the Pope, represents the head of the Church.   The gate keeper to the kingdom of heaven. The keys of said kingdom are on the cushion below his feet remind us symbolically of being given the keys of life at 21 and told now you an adult and responsible for your life.

The Hierophant signifies a public commitment of marriage and traditional values.  It is a gatekeeper that reminds us of our desire to live a life of purpose and moral responsibility.

I feel blessed to be a tarot reader and grateful everyday to channelling messages of healing and encouragement .

Do come and have a reading with me in Battersea or online.  Its fun too.
