Having a Tarot reading always gives food for thought - Mind Body and Soul.
I just had a curious experience. All excited about how epic Glastonbury had been, I thought I’d love to write about it, so why not pull a card and use that to write this blog.
And I pulled the two of swords. The gist of the card is about having to hold off from coming to a conclusion, and trying to align your intuition, heart, and mind, to come to a decision.
The illustration on the card shows a woman in white sitting on a stone stool, she is blind folded and is holding two swords (truth, intellect, thought) across her heart. It's night and there’s a new waning moon. The sea is right behind her, the tide coming in.
It’s an interesting card, as it reflects the difficulty of not being able to make a decision because you haven’t quite got the answer, and asks you to align mind body and soul. The two of swords does say don’t sit around too long the sea is coming in.
I stared at it. Holding Off?
And decided I needed another card.
This one the ace of swords. Dynamic, activating, a decision has been made that cuts out any negativity.
Well I guess going to Glastonbury was a very dynamic decision. A once in a lifetime decision even, as I had never been before but once offered could not refuse, and did everything I could to get there. You have to go Glastonbury just once in your life, its not too late at 70+….
As I headed there, I certainly was full of negativity and indecision. What on earth was I doing and certainly the first day didn’t go well and I was walking around getting lost thinking this was not a good idea, what was I thinking, until day 2 when I started to get the hang of things and relax a bit. I couldn’t quite get into the Glastonbury vibe and felt a bit ‘old’ /didn’t fit in/certainly my heart, mind and soul weren’t in alignment on the matter. I loved some moments but then got lost again. But Saturday changed all that. Femi Kuti, Ayra Star, Tems fabulous and OMG Keane, Michael Kiwunaku, Little Simz and then the might Coldplay. All senses were conjoined in joy and amazement and love.
I have been pondering also whether the ace of swords signifies any bigger decision in my life. Certainly when I got back home I wrote an email to self, takeaways….more music in my life. Music is where love resides. More organic veg and good food. Omg the food was good. As I type I feel a slight feeling of before Glastonbury and after, what changed? Certainly sharing the experience of Cold play with my beloved goddaughter (she loves them and knows every word) and husband was a glorious experience of love we’ll never forget. But where was the tarot card that expressed that?
So this morning, ever curious, I asked the cards, can I have two more for a bit more understanding of their choice, well mine, of yesterday. And pulled the six of pentacles and 3 of wands.
Six of pentacles, card of reciprocity, give and take, what you give so you receive, charity, financial investment, well it had certainly cost me a lot in money and time and effort. And I had certainly received plenty in return.
The three of wands. Expansion, broading horizons. Well it had certainly made me turn (away from my life ) around and look at how the rest of the world, the 250,000 other people at Glastonbury celebrate life. The focus of peace and love and joy and dancing and singing and beauty was wonderful to be part of. Did I mention everyone was young and beautiful. I loved hanging out with this wonderful group of late 30’s early 40s young, half of them with children at home, or pregnant, or getting married, and seeing them laugh and party and dance and laugh and party and talk, and chat, hug, kiss, enjoy themselves and the spectacle that is Glastonbury.
Thank you Glastonbury you were worth it and opened my eyes, expanded my vision, to a once in a lifetime experience. Although if I’m invited again, I might goPeople ask how accurate is the tarot? Surely there are so many interpretations it just depends the one you take. So true. Equally is we are creating our lives in every moment, then the meaning you choose to attach to a tarot card has its own power. I guess you do have to choose which meaning you want to take which is why when I read tarot to clients I try to give as many meanings as possible so they can take the one that really resonates with them. And why I encourage my clients to respond to the reading as I often find it isn’t until we express ourselves that we come to understand what we are feeling.
Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online. It always give food for thought and food for the soul.
