Can having a Tarot Reading bring you Luck?
Well if you get the Nine of Pentacles in a reading, you can certainly expect a bit more abundance…
The beautiful dressed lady in a garden of flowers and fruit depicts abundance and generosity. We call her Lady Luck because she often heralds us receiving more than we expected. Although unexpected we do say it is deserved.
I was pulling the card for Trumpet.
He certainly was and is a lucky bonus in my life. And totally unexpected. I didn’t even like dogs when I offered to look after him for 3 weeks, which turned out to be 6 months, and the rest as they say is history. And that was in 2011.
A lucky bonus because I never expected a dog to become my most beloved and fun companion and friend. He was so much fun. He was handsome and independent and had a certain charisma that attracted attention from everyone. And I rather basked in the reflected glory. We had so much fun together, travelling through France visiting friends, swimming in swimming pools (when they were strictly forbidden but the host couldn’t resist Trumpets enthusiasm).
Latterly at 15 he’s a bit blind, a bit deaf, a bit slower, a bit whiney, so a little less charming to others, and the six am calls to nature, when I live in the first floor flat without a garden, is less enjoyable but his presence and companionship, and devotion, and mine to him, have not diminished. I now have to lift him onto the bed, where I always smother him with kisses and whisper sweet nothings into his ear, and he insists on nudging into my side when going to sleep. And his snoring is wonderfully comforting!
When I think of those early days, when he first went to the isle of wight, at 2 and a half, he’d clearly never come across the sea or swum in it….my memory of him cautiously paddling is vivid as I type, and then he took to it like a dog to water! And has been half or most of the reason I have formed such a relationship with the isle of wight as he loved it so, we loved it so, the long walks on sandy beaches, trumpet diving into the water to fetch sticks or balls.
I know I am writing as if he is dead. He is however in the hospital on drips to fight an infection and high temperature and they don’t know what is it. As I type I am waiting for an update of how his night went. I visit him at 1 p.m.
So when I saw the card my heart lifted, yeah a lucky bonus. Pentacles represent the physical aspects of life, health, money, the 9 of pentacles says there’s extra, a lucky bonus.
Yeah, I thought there’s more energy and life in the old dog yet. Indeed the vet says he was surprised how good all his organs were, so I am pretty sure Trumpet is going to be on the mend. The question will remain, what is the cause of the infection, is it a mass?
As I wait, there is also another connotation one might make with the 9 of pentacles. Its going to cost you more than you thought ….i reckon we’re at £1,000 so far in vet bills.
This is a real test of the Tarot for me, although if it is the end, then the nine of pentacles says it all. As a tarot reader, under the circumstances and with the underlying question, I’d say there’s more life to him yet.
The waiting is difficult.
Do come and have a tarot reading with me in Battersea or online. The Nine of Pentacles has given me some comfort over the last 24 hours.
