A two card reading that sets you up for the day

The Queen of Swords, always looks like a bit tough to me, a bit critical, not a happy bunny which says more about my sense that being logical, direct, able to make difficult decisions, must mean you are going through difficult times otherwise why do you need to operate somewhat detached from emotion, or passion, or even comfort.

On the other hand, the reason the queen of swords, gets into detached logical mode is in order to not get her feelings hurt.  As the queen of swords is the other side of the queen of cups, the queen of caring and sharing and unconditional love. 

So this morning she is saying to me, especially as like most of us, I am ridiculously susceptible to any kind of negativity.  Pull back Honey from that age old abyss of self doubt.  Detach, get logical, use your brain.  Hold up your sword of truth, what is true for you, what do you think, what do you know is right?   And I know I am right not to get suckered in by a ‘new’ tarot spread that so didn’t connect.

Yes the queen of swords is critical.  And yes I am critical of tarot readings even giving in a classroom setting of trial and error, which might risk leaving the person feeling anxious.

So the queen of swords this morning says put your critical hat on.  Make your own decision.  Cut out the crap.  She is after all the queen of tough Love. She says how it is.  And how it was for me was negative, or potentially.

Ever wanting endorsement, just a bit more confirmation that I am on the right track, I pulled a clarifying card, and I got Strength.   She who communicates her truth from a place of inner strength and from a place of peace, avoiding confrontation with her own Ego, or another’s.

Strength epitomises the Deep Feminine principle of inner power and knowing.  She is female alchemist able to transmute ego to communicating from a place of inner strength and peace.
