Tarot offers us options…
The Two of Wands…..we have options
A man stands with his back to us holding one wand in his left hand and in the other he holds the world. The second wand stands on his right forming a doorway from which he is surveying the view ahead.
Wands represent the element of fire and suggests this is a moment to view our choice with a sense of excitement and inspiration.
There’s a sense that these options are beyond our present life, that we need to look outside, perhaps our comfort zone, to new possibilities.
The first thought that came to me was the two of wands wasn’t suggesting I pay attention to my ‘to do list’, or ‘should do’ list, but more asked me to take a look a choices that might inspire and excite….outside the norm.
The Ace of Wands represents a new spark of inspiration, of imagination…at the two level, there is choice, we have options.
As I pondered how to respond I coincidentally heard two women talking on womans hour
about making a choice, specifically the choice to do LESS. Her New Year’s Resolution was to see how much less she could do in the sense of constantly trying to achieve and instead spend more time cultivating ‘joy’. In place of achieving/ feeling joyful …..while achieving something does give me a sense of satisfaction, Joy is not the first emotion that comes to mind. Joy comes to mind when I think of dancing, or laughing, or walking by the sea, or hearing choral music in a church, or playing tennis…
Singing. Movement. More movement. Can definitely add shaking to my qi gong routine, and the tree qi gong movement for liver detox, so a walk is definitely a first choice.
And reading some incredible book, where I have to put it down because I am so wowed by the writing.
Nature, always.
Sparklers. Fireworks with music. A beautiful bunch of flowers. Beauty.
Wow so many options.
So many things to discover when considering options.
I had a walk in the park, did the qi gong tree salute, got a new book out of the library that everyone has been saying is brilliant. And discovered!
Alexa responds to ‘play BBC Sounds’. She actually asks you what you’d like to listen to and I discovered how to catch up with ‘ pick of the week’ (which you can’t relisten to on radio 4!) and the latest episode of private passions (where it feels as if they are playing the length of music they play on the original recording rather than shorter versions on podcasts. As well as listened to an episode of Newscast in interview with kemi Badenoch.
So I am turning this into ‘exploring options week’ that inspire.
Today I listened to Pam Gregory and was reminded of putting more stillness moments in the diary and of the yogic baby belly breath to get you to that quiet inner connectedness place.
Good luck everyone. It’s Election day.
Do come and have a reading with me in Battersea or online. The Tarot always re inspires.
