Tarot for Healing
Tarot for healing sounds a bit soft, and not what having a tarot reading is supposed to be about…. I mean Tarot is about forecasting your future, being told things you didn’t know, revealing situations that are going on in your life in mysterious and magical ways…that’s what draws people to tarot….I want to know what’s in my future…am I going to find my soul mate? Is my next job the right one? How committed is my boyfriend? Am I on the right path?
But if you think about it, all those questions are us trying to figure how to be feel good, feel complete, feel one with the world, feel we are on the right track, feel we are fulfilling our potential…. feeling whole.
The dictionary says the word healing comes from the word ‘wholeness’; moving toward desired wholeness or achievement of cohesion, I say Tarot has a way of doing that.
Indeed the final card of the 22 Major Arcana is The World who describes the completion of the Fool’s journey, when we have a moment of being one with the world, everything fits into place, you are complete, whole, and enough. A wonderful moment and then we start all over again on another cycle of learning and growing …..think ‘the Circle of Life’ in Lion King.
It’s all the unfinished business lurking in the background, hurts we haven’t processed, perceived shortcomings, past ‘failures’, fears of making another mistake, money worries, relationship issues, family stuff, that prevents us from being able to trust our own instincts, and is the undercurrent to most of our lives that brings us to having a tarot reading.
Because so often you just don’t know, anxiety overwhelms. It’s the don’t know that stops you moving in any direction! You just want a clue, a sign post, some encouragement to tell you, you’re on the right track, someone to consult who knows best. I can’t tell you how often I’ve said to myself, ‘I If someone will tell me what to do (that’s best for me) I will do it!’
Its why we are so attracted to Tarot because if you’ve had experience with readings you will know it really does lay out before you so much information and insight that you are able to put things in their right place, recognise a habit, what’s going on in a relationship, how to navigate a work situation.
Scary stuff and things that perhaps you don’t want to properly look at all seem safer in a tarot reading. The Images and archetypes add a whole other dimension to understanding ourselves and others. It’s the value of a tarot reading, us being able to make sense of things, to feel safe to discuss anything. That is where the healing, acceptance, realisation and encouragement is.
Gaining insight and understanding puts you back together, your energy field is no longer all over the place trying to keep fears and anxiety at bay, you have some clarity, and with more and more clarity your field opens up to possibility and potential. Enthusiasm returns as well as confidence. You know where you are heading and how to go about it. And for a moment all is well with the world. You know how to do this thing called LIFE.
And that’s what I hope happens for you when you have a tarot reading with me.
