Am I Heading in the Right Direction?
When you are not sure about the direction you are heading in: a tarot reading can be invaluable.
Life is funny in the seemingly random way we are nudged forward; the synchronicities, coincidences, conversations that influence and move us forward day by day; funny mysterious, funny magical . And Tarot is funny that way too.
Today I was feeling full of doubt and very uninspired whether I was on the right track on a project, so I went to the Tarot for guidance. The card I picked was the same card my client had picked the day before.
She had asked for a free ten minute introductory tarot reading, which I was happy to give, her question. was whether her future was going to be different from how things were going right now.
I explained that it would be hard to describe her future in a ten minute tarot reading because while tarot reveals the potential ahead, understanding how we best activate the potential and navigate our challenges takes a bit longer to understand than ten minutes.
However I suggested we do a three card tarot spread as just three cards can be very informative.
The three cards portray the present situation, the past infIuence that got you to the present, and possible future. The Present was represented by the Queen of Swords. I know the Queen of Swords well, it was always the card I pulled and so I had immediate sympathy for her, as the Queen of Swords is the queen of making logical decisions, being able to make difficult decisions in a detached manner using her intellect. She’s often learned to operate like this in order to protect herself from past hurts and disappointments. So while at her best she can access this aspect when needed but doesn’t live here. Often when we are in survival mode we can get so up in our head with our thoughts we become disconnected from the heart, disconnected from feeling grounded and without inspiration, it can be a tough and isolating place to be. And from the question my client asked it was as if she had lost her belief and vision in her future, in the direction she was heading. And so I suggested we pull an advice card. And she got the seven of pentacles. In my view a wonderfully helpful card to receive in that moment as the seven of pentacles acknowledges the work and effort it has taken to get to where we are. It also acknowledges we may be having a moment of weariness; of discouragement, asking ourselves how much more will it take? Perhaps I am on the wrong path? Do I continue or change direction?
The seven of pentacles says look at how much you have achieved, sure its been hard work, but it is absolutely at this point that you keep going …..do not give up! You will get there. Keep on working at the goal you set yourself.
I found the seven of pentacles such helpful advice for my day. Don’t be discouraged, keep on working away, you are on the right path. I hope it gave the encouragement needed.
